About Us

Lucid Patent, LLC provides a web based software solution, which enables attorneys to quickly and inexpensively create FTO charts, custom patent charting, portfolio visualization and analysis for use with their clients.

Lucid Patent was formed in 2007. However, the software has been in development since 2005.

Our software was originally developed in collaboration with the IP law firm Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner (www.slwip.com).  This firm is known for its willingness to develop and apply advanced technology and innovative methods in a pursuit to deliver the best value for their clients.

Lucid Patent is committed to excellence in service and security. ClaimBot FTO Charts represents the state of the art in Freedom To Operate patent screening and review.

Management

Bill White - President

Bill White is the President of Lucid Patent. Prior to joining Lucid Patent, Bill White served 20 years as the founding publisher of Super Lawyers and Law & Politics magazines. In 2010, Super Lawyers was sold to Thomson Reuters. Mr. White currently serves on the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Advisory Board.

Mr. White was formerly a partner with the Minneapolis law firm of Willeke & Daniels, served as general counsel of the publicly held Ag-Chem Equipment Co., and was a law clerk in the U.S. District Court, Fourth Judicial District, for the Honorable J. Earl Cudd. An honors graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, Mr. White received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota where he was Phi Beta Kappa.  Mr. White has received numerous awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.

 

Jill Young - Chief Technology Officer

Jill Young has served as an Application Developer and more recently Software Systems Manager since May 2000 for Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner, P.A.  She did undergrad work at the University of Minnesota in Business and continued her education in the field of Computer Science.  She has earned a mini-masters in Software Development as well as a Project Management and Trainer I Certification from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.  She has 18 years of experience in full cycle software development including business needs assessment, analysis, design, programming, database integration,  project management and implementation.

 

Leon Steinberg - Director

Leon Steinberg is a member of Lucid Patent’s board. Steinberg has an extensive background in the legal support industry.  Mr. Steinberg was the CEO of Intellevate, one of the world’s largest legal process outsource organizations.  He was the CEO of FoundationIP, a work process and management system for intellectual property firms and legal departments.   He was also a member of the CPA Global’s senior management team. Mr. Steinberg was the founder and former CEO of Meritas, the world’s second largest affiliation of law firms.  Leon is a former partner at the Maslon law firm in Minneapolis. Leon was a contributing author to the American Bar Association’s Lawyers Handbook and a frequent lecturer to the University Of Michigan Institute Of Law Firm Management. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Mitchel College of Law.

 

Pradeep Sinha - Director

Pradeep Sinha serves as Chairman of Contata Solutions, LLC, a global information technology-outsourcing firm headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with operations in India and other overseas markets. Mr. Sinha has provided technical guidance and ongoing oversight of the development of the ClaimBot® software solution which powers Lucid Patent's technology. Mr. Sinha has been involved in development of other products for the IP industry including FoundationIP – the first SAAS solution for the patent prosecution market, and PatentBuddy.com - a web-based peer-reference and networking community for intellectual property professionals. Previously, he was CEO, CTO and a co-founder of XOX Corporation, a developer of advanced geometric-computing engines for scientific and commercial applications. Mr. Sinha received his undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India and a Ph.D. from Cornell University with interdisciplinary research encompassing Computer Science, Mathematics & Mechanical Engineering.
